Private research agencies registered in the Bouches-du-Rhône (13) prefecture are agents who search for evidence, intelligence and information in accordance with article 1984 to 2010 of the civil code. Thierry Liebermann, private research agent, more commonly called a private detective, works on a freelance basis, regulated by law n° 83-629 of the 12th of July 1983, modified by the law on internal security n° 2003-239 of the 18th of March 2003. He is subject to public authority checks as set out by law and has been approved by the Bouches-du-Rhône prefecture. The work of a detective, private research agent, involves gathering information or intelligence for third parties, with a view to defending their interests, without citing his capacity or revealing the aim of his work. His actions are based on 3 basic criteria :
